If you or your family do not already posses photos of family members somewhere, It could be difficult to find any going back very far. I did some research on my fathers side of the family who were involved in the civil war and atually found records of some inlisting into the confederate army but did not see any photos. One place I would recommend is joining Ancestry.com and do your family history. This could prove to be resourceful and you could end up finding out things about your family you did not already know and make connections with other distant family members who just may have certain photos in their possesion. I would though try to hunt around with current family and see if they don't have some old boxes up in an attic. Good luck.

well tim thanks for telling me about this i guess we southerners do have a confederate background to our heritage.i am proud of it. thats why i want to make a connection to my civil war heritage if i go to gettysburg i hear i am most likely to see confederate soldiers or ?? one lady saw a man behind her at devils den, he told her its that way she turned back he was gone he was dressed as from texas, and two re-enactors who portrayed union soldiers saw a man scruffy looking and came up the hill and said rough day fellas eh so they were seen i have no doubt in my mind at all of these happenings i do expect to experience something too i am sure because of my family in that time who lived through it so i will try to talk to the folks at mason dixon and see what i can find out. keep in touch oh one question most descendants have photos and things of thier ancestors in that time i cant find my ancestors anywhere how do i even find it where its hidden at. do you have any suggestions??

Welcome Pvt. Bobby and welcome. I will say , I loves me some Civil war ghost stories and you should not find it too hard to come across a ghosty or two at Getteysburg. I have a family history connected to the Civil War going back to South Carolina where I am from. I am a decendant of "Manse Jolly", who boasted of killing many Union Soldiers after the war was over near Anderson south Carolina.

Im sure there are many of us who can trace back connections on both sides but it seems that the civil war is still a sensitive topic for many.This can be a huge reason for some ghosts to remain behind, that they were involved with a traumatic circumstance such as a battle and or dying tragically or before their time. Many of the experiences that some report from Gettysburg are more residual in nature. That they see what seem like reinactments but seem to disappear rather quickly.

A friend of mine who is in my Paranormal research group told me of his experiences there and they seemed quite extraordinary. I have yet to visit. I do think that there is a paranormal research group based in Gettysburg that is on this orb so you may just get to speak with them. Take care and welcome.

hi everyone i am new here i love this place already..i am putting here a experience i had last year in saltville virginia a civil war battlefield, where i re-enacted the civil war battle there i felt like something was behind me a presence of some sort i got up early in morning and started the fire. to put coffee pot on it. i ran to get my camera which is digital. my capt asked whats wrong i told him he looked at me in wonder. i snapped the picture and before it was clear i took picture and it came out with alot i mean alot of orbs hundreds of them around my tent i said oh gosh, the capt said what is it. hey come look at this he grabbed his camera he got the same thing on his camera he was stunned to find out its real. i knew there was a presence there. now i am going to gettysburg living history aug 11,12 2012 for a re-enactment there this will be my very first visit to that wonderful place where history unfolded in 1863 i will also be there for 150th in 2013 again in july i heard alot of the activity there with spirits sighted and confederate solders appear to others its awesome i am not afraid to meet then face to face. i am confederate descendant of a family member who fought there in 1863 can anyone suggest anything or best place to hear the sounds or anything i can expect there i really would like to be part of that and anything interesting. also i heard some re-enactors may have vanished there in gettysburg it may not be accurate not sure. but did hear there is a possible portal a doorway that opens up there.and can see covered wagons and horses which could be an indication of seeing the 19th century through there is that possible too??

No....as I've said so many times... because of a lot of life experiences... all over years of seeking the answers to this stuff that happened as a child, third eye visions, audio-clarvoince, past life memory, out - of - body, at 10 yrs old,,... then, a lot happened quickly, which I've written it all up, but not ready to share all yet, at the rate of this progression, it may take a lot more time. The channeled stuff arrived in the 80's, (Earth info, goes only so far, a lot was destroyed) & onward, so much info.,.., I did keep notes, myself, & two others involved at the beginning... I've gone public with what-is-what concerning all this. Thanks for exploring.

This is my new anthem guys... just saying.. I have always had positive intentions in my lifes work, to teach & share my views.
I never believed in the sin concept crap, we choose the way we live, with honor & dignity, Love & intregrity?,.... or with meanness & judging, & bullying others. If you're not murdering, beating people up, or purposely causing someone harm... intentional evil,.. it's nobodies business..Live your life,.. an harm none.. A Wiccian Creed... a good one, I also like the 'do unto others' theme, same thing...later
